These pictures show much of the forgotten harbour, it suprises many people the size and depth of the harbour especially when the majority of River Thames users and locals did not even know this site existed. This harbour once desilted and cleared of undergrowth will have a depth ranging from 5 metres down to 2 metres in the shallower parts as can clearly be seen in these photos, a restored Northfleet Harbour will have a capacity to deal with hundreds of yachts and numerous larger historic sailing barges and steam ships.

The Trust as part of their research are looking for historic pictures showing the harbour in its heyday, scanned pictures will be great but we will also be more than grateful to be able to scan your pictures and return them safely to you.
